New Foundation Launches in Honor of Kevin Johnson:
The Kevin Wade Johnson Foundation Seeks to Uplift Christ Through Sharing the Gospel in Arkansas and Around the World
Batesville, AR, October 8, 2010: Founded in honor of Kevin Johnson, a double heart transplant recipient and faithful servant of Christ, The Kevin Wade Johnson Foundation’s mission is to spread the saving gospel of our Lord Jesus and glorify His name through evangelism, Christian missions, and organ donation awareness. The idea for the foundation came from foundation director, Robert Foster, who is the co-founder of Bad Boy Mowers, Inc. in Batesville, AR, and was also a boss of Kevin’s for over 15 years. The evangelist for the foundation is Herb Wilson, a good friend and co-worker of Kevin’s, who now is a full time evangelist. Donations to the foundation will go to support Herb’s ministry in evangelism and also to support Jay Munoz’s ministries in the Dominican Republic. Kevin was a partner with Jay Munoz in his ministry that plants churches in some of the poorest villages in the Dominican Republic. Through this foundation, the Gospel of Christ will be spread and Kevin’s ministry in the Dominican can continue as well. Also, once the foundation is established, another goal will be to support organ donation awareness, as organ donation gave Kevin the blessing of another 4 years on with his family. Those on the board for the KWJ Foundation include the director, Robert Foster, Herb Wilson, the evangelist, Kevin’s longtime friends, Ryan Howard, Brad Cummings, and Tom Smith, Kevin’s brother, Blane Johnson, and Kevin’s wife and daughter, Tammy Johnson, and Jill Johnson. The board soon plans on setting a date for a foundation kickoff sometime this fall. The hopes for this foundation are that the life Kevin Johnson lived here on Earth can be honored and that Christ’s name will be exalted over all through missions and evangelism.
